On day 3 of the tournament Team Italy was able to score early against Team Austria through a lead-off-homerun by Andrew Maggi off the austrian starter Thierry Letouze. With more italian hits and a homerun by John Andreoli in the following innings, Team Italy was up 4:0 after 3 Innings. The italian starter Andrea Pizziconi held the austrian offense silent. Only in the 4th Team Austria managed to score through back-to-back hits by Obed and Sam Hackl and shorten the score through an RBI-Single by Moritz Hackl to a 4:1. After two scoreless innings by austrian reliefer Paul Astl, Team Italy scored more runs to make it 6:1 in the 6th inning. Pizziconi and his relief-pitchers Aldegheri and Crepaldi did not allow any more runs. Even a bases-loaded-situation for Team Austria did not transfer into runs. Superstar Chris Colabello on the italian team crushed a grand-slam-homerun in the 8th to make it 10:1. The italian closer Yomel River did not allow any baserunners in the 9th. The favoured Team Italiy beats Austria 10:1.
