In a rematch of the 2016 championship final, the Netherlands eged out Spain 1-0 in Saturdays Semis on Calten Daals RBI-Single in the eight Inning that scored Kalian Sams. Sams had started the frame with a single and was bunted over to second Base by Dwane Kemp on a sacrifice-bunt. In an tight battle of two evenly matched teams, the defending champs had just enough defense to keep spain from scoring even one run. Lowuin Sacramento (7.2 IP, 4 Hits, 1 ER, 5 Ks, L) started for Spain and did a fine job against the vaunted dutch offense that had registered a tournament high eight homeruns just the day before. Diegomar Markwell (3.0 IP, 2 H, 3 Ks), Tom de Blok (5.0 IP, 2 Hits, 4 Ks, W) and Juan Sulbaran (S) combined to shut out the spanish Offense although Spain (5) had one more hit than the Netherlands (4). Lesther Galvan had two hits in the losing cause. The Netherlands will meet either Israel or Italy in Sundays Grand Final at 7:00 PM in Bonn. The Dutch vie for their 23rd European Championship-title.
