The Italian team managed to beat Israel in a close game and secured their spot in the final for the European Championship.
Both teams got off to a slow start in the early innings, no runs were scored through the first two. The Italian offense came awake in the third inning, scoring four runs on four hits. Team Israel needed some more time to find into the game, but im the fifth inning they turned the game around on a Home Run by Danny Valencia and a Grand Slam by Simon Rosenbaum. In the sixth inning they even managed to expand their lead on another Home Run. Though to the two-run deficit the Italian team never gave up and it apid off, when they retook the lead in the eighth on two Home Runs that brought in three. Closer Alex Bassini managed to lock down the save and lift his team to the final.
None of the Israelian pitchers threw more than three innings, together they gave up seven runs. In the offense Danny Valencia, Rop Paller and Simon Rosenbaum each showed up with their Home Runs. The Italian starter gave up five runs in three innings of work, but the brilliant Italian Bullpen gave up only one more run the entire game. For the Italian offense both Chris Collabello and Alberto Mineo hit Home Runs.
The Israelian team will face Spain tomorrow in the third-place game, Team Italy are going to play the final against the Netherlands.
