Thanks to a strong first Inning the Czech Republic beat Sweden by a score of10:3e. With their fourth straight loss Team Sweden has no chance to make the quarterfinals anymore.
The Czech team got to Swedens starter Leo Bristow early, scoring five runs on five hits in the first. The Swedish team seemed to need some time to get over that start, being able to score their first run in the fourth inning. But it was just the next inning when the Czech team managed to bring another run across to get the lead back to five. And they were even able to expand the lead in the seventh scoring two more runs. A Swedish run in the seventh got erased by two more Czech runs in the eighth, and even though Team Sweden managed to score one more run in the ninth the Czech Republic managed to secure the win.
Jan Tomek started a good game for the Czech team, throwing six innings, allowing only one run and striking out six. The offense managed to record eleven Hits, three of those came from Matej Hejma. Swedens starter Leo Bristow threw four innings allowing six earned runs, for the Swedish offense Joel Johnson and Peter Johannessen both recorded two hits.
The Swedish team will face Great Britain in their last game of the group phase, the Czech Republic will take on Germany.
